Have you noticed that the world seems smaller these days?
Or is it just narrowed?
Has it become elliptical and distorted?
From the nice rounded sphere it used to be.
Or is it only my eyes that make it so?
Illusion being what it is.
Like a bagged chicken, a caged cat -
I imagine the world in bag time and the focus would be pretty narrow.
The place seems safe enough until you realize where you are.
My hair stands on end sometimes, too, screaming silently in comical quills.
I do imagine it.
I'm a little quieter than the cat and chicken though.
Or am I?
Being quiet is okay, but it won't get you out of the bag or out of the cage.
Or will it?
But maybe that's okay too.
Being bagged.
Or is it?
Depends on your eyes.
Illusion being what it is.
And what about that sphere?
Narrowing, ellipsing into hemispheres.
Separating thought, action, emotion, cultures, people.
If my brain thinks it is so, then is it?
Depends on the moment.
Illusion being what it is.
The anonymous calling man said your "retarded kid don't belong here."
"Take him and squat in rejectland."
Oh.
Who has the cognitive issue?
Depends on your slant.
Illusion being what it is.
The rationalizer quotes when telling lies big and small,
"Nothing for you to worry about,"
As the knife plunged backstabbing into karmic whirls.
Who does so envy another's freedoms enough to kill something loved?
Whose death is it anyway then?
Depends on the view from the dark.
Illusion being what it is.
The sphere turns slowly and the chasms run deep.
Does the brain slowly turn when we're thinking, or do I just imagine it?
Is it thought that creates the ellipse?
Does it become real as the thought permeates the Universe?
Like a wayward alphabet careening into other Spheres?
Creating eternal division.
Maybe.
Depends on your beliefs.
Illusion being what it is.
When and how do spoken and acted deceits flip-flop around to disclosure?
They always do.
Sometimes like instant coffee, served sans sweetener.
Bitter to the last drop.
Or do they?
Depends on the level of denial.
Illusion/self-delusion being what it is.
