7/7/07

Just had to get one up for posterity ;o)

Still gone fishin' and enjoying some free time with the children!
Nothing significant to report on this 7/7/07. Well, other than the fact that Pete Townshend broke about 500 hearts on this day in history. Mark it well. About 500 hearts broken nearly simultaneously by *one* man. 7/7/07. PT. I'll miss that durn blog. :o(
On a lighter note, author Robert Heinlein was born on this day in 1907. The other 7/7/07! :o)
*Catch* you all later! ha ha ... ok - that was intentional for Dale.) hehe!

I love fresh fish, too.

Mostly, we catch tiny bluegill and let them go back to the water.

Yes! PT will be back after a good rest. I don't imagine he can stay in rest mode for very long.

I had my first celebrity dream in many years. In it, the children and I stopped by some weird old house in some country, somewhere (unknown.) In it, resided Pete, Rachel, Mikey, and a host of other unidentifiable people. PT gave my oldest son some tips on fishing and let the other two play with his guitars (now you KNOW that was a dream lol) We ended up being invited to live there and it turned out that PT was actually a long, lost brother. Very strange, indeed.

So, we decided to stay but had to go and retrieve our belongings from some boat we had arrived on. PT looked over his shoulder and gave me a sweet, brotherly kiss and I realized that I was actually "hovering" or sort of floating over him. It was so weird. He said "Well, now you have to stay because how can you walk away from *that* kiss?" And he roared laughter and Rachel rolled her eyes and asked to carry my suitcase upstairs. LOL And that's all I remember.

I've only had 2 other "celebrity" dreams in my life. One had John Lennon appearing in a chair at the end of my bed. He was lounging in it with his legs over the side. He was laughing and telling me about the "real" world and how it worked in the spiritual sense. He told me not to sweat the small stuff because none of it will matter in the "end" ... nothing except love and loving people.

The other one involved Eric Clapton, John Lennon, and I can't remember the 3rd person. They were sitting on a green bus stop bench, holding a Russian bottle of Vodka. They also talked about the world of Spirit and how all that matters is love. Everything else will crumble to dust. Very weird dreams. That was also about 4 years ago.

Okay ... get the drool bucket and white coats.

lol

::Wanders in:: Hiya Tink. Just dropped by to say hi, and am I reading your *My Family* post right- you had a heart attack around Easter 2007?!? If I've got it wrong, don't tell everybody how 8tupid* I can be :P

Aw shucks, Lace. You're not stupid! Shirley, you're not! (don't call me Shirley) heh. Old Airplane! joke.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. I experienced a heart attack on 4/2/07. The date forever will be etched in my psyche. And a mesh stent will forever be implanted in my right distal coronary artery. lol

This blog used to be written in the "third person" as "Eggsalad Annie," after a challenge from a fellow blogger to hone writing skill/style.

I did it for around a year and it was increasingly difficult to not be just *me* lol After confusing everyone to bits on other blogs, between Tink and "Annie" ... I decided to call it a day and retired "Annie" to the Salad Bowl.

So, now, Lace, that I've answered your simple query with 500 words or more, I best hush. :o)

Enjoy the day and keep cool.

I was wondering about your heart attack.
It sounds like you were one of the lucky ones.
But you're so young!

As far as "Annie" goes, I love writing my blog in first person - I feel it's kin to a type of memoir.
I copied and printed some of my better posts, put them in a duo tang and gave them to my Mum and Dad at Christmas.
They've always encouraged my writing, of which has not been very prolific lately.
I've been going through a bit of a rough time and can't concentrate entirely on the thoughts and words.

Hope you are managing to keep cool - the temperature has been in the 90's here...

Tink, thanks for dropping by TOWHM. I see you've had some health struggles and have come thought with flying colors. Glad to hear is. Be well.

Hey Tink!(I love your name btw)

Hope you are catching lots of fish! Enjoy the time with your kids.

On the PT heart breaking issue. I agree. But I think he has something else in store for us bloggers. He seems to enjoy this medium and I think he will once again grace us with his presence.

Interesting dreams. Whenever I dream of PT, which isn't very often, he always is wearing the same thing and he looks as he did in 1971, even though it is in the present. They always seem very real. Wonder what it means?

Hi Tink,
Just wanted to "drop in" and say Hi :)

You are quite a strong woman (after reading your different blogs). You really have had a "plate full" and yet all I ever hear is sweet, happy (and funny)"music" come from that end of the "wire".

You are just wonderful :)
Look forward to the next leg of this "Townshend Experience".

Take care, Janice

Hi Tink!

Hi everybody!
I'm a slack blogger - so sorry!

Thank you for the kindness and great commentary. You guys are the best.

You know I was just being silly about PT's blog. It was disappointing (as many endings are ...) but I do understand.

I was thinking about Zoe's dream yesterday. I really don't know why you see PT in your dreams as he was. It may be part of idealizing what we had of our past and wishing some things to stay the same. Seeing him as he was rather than as he is probably says more about you than him. ;o) I know what you mean about how real others seem in dreams. I often wake up not sure if I was dreaming or not, with some touch or even a scent lingering. !

I watched the video link Mike put up. That was wonderful to watch. Yes .. the energy was incredible. Someone commented that The Who messed up near the end, but recovered. It must have been an awesome recovery because I didn't notice anything amiss. Or amister.

:o)

HOpe your days are sunny, peaceful, and that lots of love flows into any of those remaining "dark" spots we all seem to be experiencing.

XO
Tink

I, too, dream of Pete as he was in the past as well as he is in the present.

Keith Moon is an entirely different matter...

How come all you people dream of Pete? LOL! Where's mine?

I used to dream TONS, my whole life. But the past year or two, it seems I've stopped dreaming.

About the only celebrity dream I've ever had was a long convoluted one about visiting a place called "Elvisville." Can't remember all the details now, but it was LONG. Had it a few years ago. And I've never, ever been an Elvis fan! Funny.

About Pete's blog closing... did he really close it on 7-7-07? Wasn't it more recent than that, or was that just his announcement? OK my memory's all squashed....

I miss him terribly.... isn't that pitiful? OK, not terribly.. but a lot. It's only sunk in recently how good it was to have had that shared blogging opportunity with him. What a sweet guy he is... I'm sure he'll be "back", in some form. A leopard cannot change his spots, after all.... ;-)

Tink said...

.. Elvisville. omg. LOL Does everyone wear jumpsuits? :o)

My dream cycles come and go. I had a long spell of none and as I look back, that one with Pete and Rachel actually began a series of dreams. I haven't had a good one remembered in a few weeks now.

Oh .. Lucy, let's see. I think that was the day 7/7/07 of his last regular blog post and the day he announced the end of the blog, via the "no further" title. It's really the day that the blogdogs (us!) realized that Pete's posts would go no further. As it was, the blog commentary did go on for quite some time!

No .. it's not pitiful that you miss Pete. It was an unusual opportunity for all of us to be so "up close" to someone we admired for so long, from so far. He did leave a very neat/nice bulletin on myspace last week.

But, I know what you mean. Since he has a publisher's deadline, I would imagine that he has been quite busy getting final drafts completed!

Be well, enjoy the transitions to Autumn. Talk later!
