Part 3
The Rodents Versus The Other Mammals:
The rodents went into battle against the mammals. The rodents went to a hardware store and bought parts. They built a Time Machine. Then the rodents went back in time to the 70's. Their plan was to bring back the greatest disco player ever! And there he was:
DISCO MOUSE!

They talked to him and said "Hello, Disco Mouse. Will you come help us save our Land?" He said "Yes!" "But, I'll tell you my life in song:"
::::disco beat:::::Burn Baby Burn, Disco Inferno!::::::
A long time ago
I had an owner,
I was shoved into a cage,
it was cold and damp.
Until I escaped into
the '70s!
I built the Cadillac.
All the girl mousies love it.
I drove in my Cadillac
to Wendy's
to get my car washed.
“Yes. In the 70's, Wendy's was a car wash!”

“But I'm wondering how do we get back to your time in the future?” Then the rodents said "Why don't we put our Time Machine on fast forward!" Disco Mouse worried about getting time sick.
They all squeaked "To the Time Machine!"
So the rodents got in and hit fast forward and Disco Mouse threw up. By the time they got there, more rodents had multiplied.
That's when the rabbit mammals came. First, the rabbits took some acorns and threw them at Disco Mouse. Then, one of the rats bit one of the rabbits and it left the rabbit with a bloody boo-boo. The rabbit made pellet poops and fired 'em at the rats. Disco Mouse took cover behind a Tree. When the rabbits chased him behind, he started Disco Dancing and stunned the rabbits into a trance.
Those rabbits awoke and started Disco Dancing. Disco Mouse then stomped the rabbits. The rabbits ran away. More mice came and took sticks to shoot cheese pellets at the rest of the rabbits. The rabbits took carrot bites, put them on sticks and shot them at the rodents. Disco Mouse grabbed the acorns and returned fire. In the meantime, a tricky rabbit destroyed the Time Machine. Disco Mouse then started to Disco Dance again and all the rabbits decided to
just play dead because their ears were too big to cover.
One rabbit woke up, sneakily climbed the tree, cut the chain on the Disco Ball, it fell and hit Disco Mouse in the head. All the rabbits stopped playing dead.

One rabbit started to dance the ballet and Disco Mouse threw the spare Disco Balls he had in his pockets at the rabbits so they had to play dead again.
Disco Mouse stopped and asked the other rodents, "I wonder? How did that rabbit get the tutu on so fast?" And this made the rabbits wake up and bomb Disco Mouse with tutus.
And this is how the rodents discovered the military was nearby! But, it was a fake military and the rodents didn't know. It was boys playing in the field with castles made out of painted cardboard boxes. The sign said "Military!" So, the rodents were tricked and they went inside the castles.
They saw some guns, picked them up and ran out through the cracks with them. The rodents brought the guns to shoot them at the rabbits. When they pulled the triggers, just like happened in those cartoons they sneakily watched behind the boys on Saturday mornings, a little flag came out of the gun and said "Bang!"
Uh oh. The mice then figured out something. They said "What if we put cheese in the guns and shot that at the rabbits?" The rabbits hopped up into the trees, ballet dancing the whole time, with Disco Mouse winging rocks at them the whole time. The ballet rabbits played dead so Disco Mouse would stop throwing rocks.

Disco Mouse said "Hmm, I wonder if rabbits were like this in the 70s?"
The rabbits stopped playing the possum trick and tried to throw carrots at Disco Mouse. While Disco Mouse was dodging the carrot pellets, he started doing a funky dance and called it "The Funky Mouse Dance." All the rodents and rabbits then froze in time. Except for one of the rabbits who threw a rock and hit Disco Mouse in the face. Disco Mouse returned fire with Disco Balls.

The rabbit then returned that fire with one of the same Disco Balls that Disco Mouse was throwing. That one knocked Disco Mouse over and he found a trumpet that he started to play. Then possums showed up along with the squirrels. Disco Mouse couldn't believe that a trumpet could call them! That was the weirdest thing. Somehow the rabbits built their own Time Machine and went back to the 70's to bring back the greatest Disco Dancing Rabbit ever!
Disco Rabbit!

When the rabbits put the lever on forward to come back, Disco Rabbit threw up too. By the time they got here, they said "We can solve this war! A dance off! Disco Mouse versus Disco Rabbit!"
Disco Rabbit began with a dance even worse than Disco Mouse's. It was the "The Carrot Dance." Then Disco Mouse did something even worse. His dance was called "The Dance Of Dance-Dance." The sound of the disco music made everybody throw up, including Disco Rabbit.

Disco Rabbit then had to start pooping and he shot poop into the sky. It came back at all of them and was raining rabbit poop pellets. Disco Mouse started shooting all that cheese in the air and it came down and mixed up with the pellets, so it was raining Poopy Cheese.

All of a sudden, a Fruit Fly landed on Disco Mouse and Disco Rabbit and freaked them out! So when they freaked out, they made a time warp and everybody went extinct.

Next up: Part 4. The Bugs Versus Technology.
from a January 28, 1998 Sci/Tech BBC article:
"Ants walk around at random and there's no intelligent controller telling them what to do. When they find the food they simply run back to the nest laying a little pheromone trail that other ants can smell."
The rest of the colony need only follow that path to fetch the remaining food.
The foraging techniques of the humble ant are proving to be an inspiration in tackling more technological bugs.
But it is a method that computer programmers admire and one that they are now trying to mimic.
He (Professor Winter) credits ants with inspiring a more efficient approach to weeding out program bugs.
Such 'self-governing' programs have already been put to use in BT's development network."

Happy Trails To You,
"till we meet again!
