Sometimes it seems we can only imagine it....;-(
Happy belated Bithday, Tink!!! I posted the same link on my blog, hahha. Did you send your wish???
Love,
ElenaXXXX
Tink happy Bday!!!!!!
~Lace~
Vally It's okay. We have to keep trying anyway! (Danke for the birthday greeing, btw.)
Elena Thank you. Yes! I sent a greeting to the Imagine Peace Tower. It sent back a thank you note.
Can you imagine? :o)
Aww Lace Thank you! So kind of you to drop in.
Has everyone heard Lace's cover of Behind Blue Eyes? My Space. Get there. It is GORGEOUS. And I mean GORGEOUS!
Nice to see you on the imagine peace bandwagon too!
(will check out Lace's cover!!)
I posted my peace message the other day.
Aw...I would LOVE to meet you too Tink!
(re:your sweet comment on The Ones...)
Hope you are doing well!
Are you a music therapist? (Is that what an MT is?).
I would love to do Music Therapy one day! I can't read music though.
I really ought to LEARN!
I'm very lazy. :(
xxxxx
Hiya Lucy Yes! I found it because of your In The Attic post! Seriously. I goosebumps listening to Lace.
Hiya Sue! :o)
The MT is for Medical Transcriptionist, or as we pompously call ourselves in private "Medical Language Specialists." lol My younger autistic boy ADORES music. All kinds. It's his major interest in life. Its funny, I can read music as I played trumpet and piano many years ago. I don't have an instrument now, but would LOVE to take up piano again. When I can afford a small piano, i'm going to do it!
I meant to also mention that the same some mentioned above was ENTHRALLED with Lace's cover version of Blue Eyes. I played it over and over and over. He did not want me to stop and was quite annoyed when I had to. lol
Sue... I doubt that you are lazy. My attention will bop from one thing to another without sufficient motivation. I probably have some for of ADD. I don't doubt that!
Back to work for me!
Love,
Tink
duh. make that the same "son" ... not some. heh.
Oh gosh, I'm embarrased now, Tink STOP!!
I came back over to say hi and tell you I got your message at my blog. I told you there, but I'll tell you here too, you made my day, honestly. I've worked with autistic kids, lots of exception kids, they are so special, and the thoughts of your lil guy reacting the way you describe to my song just sent chills all over me.
I'll shuffle off now ::still embarrassed::
(ps.. did I ever tell you I find you adorably enchanting??)
xoxoxoxxo
~Lace~
aw shucks. :::blush:::
Now, now ... take yer propers Lace!
LOL I was always the one hanging in the background when we played out. I'm used to being part of an egalitarian ensemble. All this fuss really does embarrass me, but I have to admit, it's exciting too, so tanks & jeeps, and ok, NOW stop!
~Lace~
If we keep imagining it, maybe it can happen.
xx
Okay Lace I won't mention anymore how fabulous your composition skill and voice are. Nope. Did I say I won't mention the fabulousness of you? Okay, I won't.
:o)
xo Tink <----- brat
Grace I think so, too. I think our world is in a transition that must occur from a maturation perspective. In comparison to galaxies, Earth is so very young and since we're no more separate from the Cosmos than our skin is to our bodies, then we react emotionally, psychologically, intuitively in tune to the churning of the Earth's maturation. And vice-versa. We can enhance it or fight it. The growing pains, I mean.
I don't particularly like Yoko Ono and this is why:
She is very much stirred and motivated by seeking POWER. This is not necessarily healthy. I don't want to do the negative vibe out there, because I really believe it has effect in the Universe. However, my whole being is part of that Universe. If I don't "talk" it out and clear the air, come to resolution .. then my being is harmed. Thereby, harming all. Sounds oogy-boogey, yada yada; but, I really believe we have that kind of effect on the Universe. Thoughts, feelings, wishes, words, actions.
I started to think about first of all, calling this beam of light a "tower." That seems very limiting in a weird way. Prison-like. Then, I started to wonder how much the cost in $$, manpower, energy consumption this beam will take. And what about the cost on the environment? Is all of that overruled by the actuality that people are very conscious, because of the Beam of Light, about imaging peace! ?
I don't know with certainty.
Okay .. before I get too far away from orignal intent and meaning, let me say that I do want others to feel free to express themselves here on this blog. I don't care to have people communicate those thoughts/feelings in mean or cruel ways, tho. So, if you can find a balance that way ... w/o being really mean then go ahead and spill!
So, Rob, you're free to write about what it is that bugs the crap out of you regarding Yoko.
xo tink
O.K. Tink...
Well first of all, I couldn't give a rat's ass about Yoko's dumb tower of peace or whatever it's called. It sounds like another stupid attempt by her to get publicity. Publicity for someone who has absolutely no talent in life. What John Lennon ever saw in her I'll never figure out. I can only conclude that he was on drugs at the time and was out of his mind.
There are so many things about her that I can't stand. For instance:
1) Her whole "When I met John, I had know idea who he even was" line. Yeah right! Do you buy that? I don't for a second.
2) Her horrible "music" that was forced on me everytime I bought a John Lennon record. It's inclusion on any of John's albums kept the album from being great. An album was half great and half unlistenable garbage. Take "Double Fantasy" for example. Yoko has no musical ability whatsoever. None! She makes Linda McCartney look like a musical genius in comparison. She needed to just BUTT OUT! I don't care if John insisted on putting her "music" on the album, she should have refused to and ackowledged her lack of any musicality for the sake of the listener by doing so. I would have respected her for that!
3) Her poor treatment of Julian Lennon. From what I've heard over the years, she has hardly given him any of the BILLION or so dollars John left behind. Meanwhile her talentless son Sean lives like a king. And as far as I can tell Julian's musical abilities take after John's, while Sean's take after Yoko's.
4) The fact that she spliced together and released all the crappy demo's and stuff John did that he would have never intended the world to hear. I guess she needed to make a another quick buck off of his corpse.
5) The fact that she has any say at all in the music of the Beatles bugs the hell out of me. The fact that she has as much say in it as Paul McCartney is absurd. Paul asked her at one time if "Yesterday" could be changed from a Lennon/McCartney song to a McCartney song and she wouldn't hear of it. What a Bitch! Paul wrote it and just wanted to drop the whole Lennon/McCartney thing for this ONE exception but no, she wouldn't allow it.
6) Just the mere sight of her face and sound of her voice makes me want to throw sulphuric acid in my eyes and shove pencils through my eardrums.
I guess I just don't like her much, huh? I could be wrong about some of this stuff. But these things all shaped me opinion of her over the years. One thing I know for sure though; her "music" is the worst I've ever heard. It's laughable. I'd rather listen to Pat Matheny's "Zero Tolerance For Silence" on a continuous loop. Chances are you've never heard "Zero Tolerance For Silence" but trust me, that was a low blow!
Thanks Tink!
I feel better now!
I'm gonna go listen to the good parts of "Double Fanstasy" now. At least (thanks to CD's) I can just skip right over the bad stuff. I used to have to run over to the turntable and pick up and replace the needle quickly. Thank God for technology!

Oooops! I should have read this part more carefully. I don't think I was too mean though. Except for maybe the Pat Matheny reference. Seriously, if you haven't heard this CD, feel very blessed. Then again, some people are attracted to train wrecks.
Hey Rob! Glad you were able to hold back a bit.
lol
It's fine. You weren't really mean, but I don't know how true these things are. I have some excerpts from an interview of John Lennon wherein he spoke of Yoko. He did not disagree on the Dragon Lady part. But, he not only tolerated it, he needed it. For his lack of business expertise. I think much of it was the early loss of his Mother and Yoko was the psychological replacement. That's only my limited opinion.
Well, I've got lots more to write, but have to run now. You're correct .. I don't know Pat Matheny (but will look it up later.) I trust you when you write it was not a compliment. lol
Okay .. 'til later ~*~
OM PADMI OM .. whatever
:o)
If we can imagine it, it can happen...
We just need enough humankind to Imagine.
People have knocked Yoko for years, but she and John had a special bond and love that is very rare.
I have the utmost respect for both Yoko and John.
Rest in... Peace, John.
Awwww Dale Written by a true heart. ;o)
I don't doubt that there was a great love there. Some kinds of loving can be unhealthy. Not saying theirs was that type. I really have no idea. I didn't live in their home, as none of us did. I can only go by what everyone not intimately acquainted with John and Yoko go by... that which we read in interviews, press, things written by former spouses, children, etc. In the end, I look at it this way now: In the end. The very end for all of us. There will only be one "judge" of our lives and what our real motivations are/were. ;o)
xo
OMG Rob, I'm sorry but I LOL'd at this:
Just the mere sight of her face and sound of her voice makes me want to throw sulphuric acid in my eyes and shove pencils through my eardrums.
Geez Lucy...Don't be sorry! I was going for a laugh there, honestly.
I'm glad it worked. Of course, I was serious to a degree though, just maybe not quite THAT degree.
Glad you laughed,
Rob
