O'Bama Begorrah!

Leave it to our *lovely* friends --- The Irish --- to make me laugh out loud! Here is a clip from an article that reflects the opinions of hopefuls in other countries as to the outcome of this election. I just *had* to mark this day because it's an especially historic election. No matter how we feel about the particular candidates, we are living into a day/evening that will be forever noteworthy. Enough blather ... here's the clip that got me giggling:

World hopes for a 'less arrogant America'

The Irish village of Moneygall was also trying to claim Obama as a favorite son — based on research that concluded the candidate's great-great-great grandfather, Joseph Kearney, lived there before emigrating to the United States.

[Moneygall!!!] Whatta name.

The entertainment at Moneygall's Hayes Bar, where an American flag fluttered outside window Tuesday, included a local band called Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys that has been winning air time with its rousing folk song "There's No One as Irish as Barack Obama."

"We're not going to go mad with the drink," said Ollie Hayes, who runs the pub. "We just want to show Barack that we appreciate he's from here, to have some finger food and watch the early results come in with the media."

Hi Tink,
it looks like right now, Obama has won. And yes no matter what we might feel, it is historic. Wish Martin Luther King was still alive, maybe he can see from heaven.

Lets hope for good things for our country.

Geez...who knew there was some truth to my little O'bama with an apostrophe joke all along. Still...he can't touch my favorite Black/Irishman-the late great Phil Lynott of the GREAT Thin Lizzy!
