While I don't agree with most of the tenets of socialism, I gotta say that I'm for *some* kind of national health care. Being one of the "uninsurable" Americans, it would be more than nice to have my health care needs covered. Especially ironic, since my career was devoted to caring for others in nursing. So, here's a reflection for those opposed to National Health Care:

If 1 million Americans fell down dead in the forest for lack of health care and prescription coverage, would you hear them fall?

As a gift for your birthday, Mr. President, I have joined ranks with Michael Moore and his "Sicko" supporters in saying that on this one ... you've got my vote.

Have a happy birthday, Barack. Enjoy the little victories because they can lead to the bigger ones. Remember God in all that you do and don't forget us little people when you collect your paychecks. Peace out.

Hi Tink, I see you around this and thought I'd stop by for a visit.

I am so happy to see real movement in the U.S. under Mr. Obama. I think most of us Canucks over the border think he's a breath of fresh air as well.

Hey sis (Dale), the President is even younger than your younger sister !!! (be it only by 1/4 of a year). hehehe

I think it is Lucy! I think 4 trillion is a multiple of 4 ... lol

Me, too, Dale That durn whippersnapper! (How nice of your lovely sister to stop by!)

Hi Lesley How nice of you to stop by! I know we tend to be an impatient bunch down the border .. lol It took a full 200 or more years to get us into this mess, so I imagine it's going to take quite some time to get out of it. I wish our government "heads" could study up Canadian policies for some pointers!

Hi Grace! Aww. I know what you mean. Monday was my only day off for years. So, Sunday used to be my "Friday."

Come September, I'll be alternating split weekends. One week work Saturday, next week work Sunday. Will still have Mondays off. That helps with the school schedules, because the vast majority of their school "off" days fall on Monday.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

He's 48 huh? I'd wish him a belated happy birthday but quite frankly...I can't stand the guy. He really gives me the creeps.

Yeah Rob It's okay .. you don't have to wish him happy b-day. You don't have to like him. Lots are creeped out by him. He's part of the well-oiled machine. Through it, I just hope he can shift policies toward doing some good. I really need this health insurance deal to work.
