I Gots A New Toof For My Burfday!!!!

Oh Sarah. lol.

You are a precious, loving, sweet, and tough little girl. Born about three weeks before schedule, you made your desire for early entrance known at 3 a.m. on May 21, 1999. And given our schedule for the next 24 hours, Mom is blogging for you a little early, too. Happy 7th Birthday, Sarah!!!

You would have been born by noon but the amniotic sac just did not want to release you on its own. We tried hard to wait for the natural process, but then you got a little tired with all the effort it takes to be born and the doctor helped the sac open. Three big pushes and out you came! 3:15 on the dot!

The nurses and doctors attending your arrival were awestruck at your presence.

They were! You were wide-eyed, attentive, and looked each person there right in the eye. They couldn't believe it. Except for Uncle Bill. He didn't actually
get to see you come all the way out. He drove all the way from Los Angeles to San Diego so that your big brothers could be there with you too. He helped get OO and Ben there. Our helper who brought us to the hospital at 5 a.m. had to leave after we arrived. Yep, it was just you and me kidd-o through the whole labor time!

At the sight of your head emerging, Uncle Bill got a bit woozy and had to be excused. lol So, that's why he didn't get to see right away how you eyed everybody around you. We wrapped you in a white blanket with tiny pink rosebuds and many remarked that you looked like a rosebud. A six pound bundle of beauty, charm, grace, and firm determination. They all said things like that and knew how special you are. Even then. On your first day to Earth!

Sarah did not ask for anything for her Birthday this year. Can you imagine at age six, not asking for anything?? She knows that finances are enormously tight and said "Mommy, whatever you can get is ok and I'll love it and won't mind a bit."

Sometimes stubborn, most times determined, extraordinarily artistically inclined, and amazingly giving and wise for one so young. Mommy asked you if there wasn't just one thing that you really, really were hoping for? "Well," you said. "I was hoping for some red nail polish. Do you think we can find some for little girls?" Red nail polish for little girls. She has wanted that item for some time. Nowhere has Mommy been able to find that. Red nail polish. Made for little girls. Red? From a wee rosebud who is in love with pink and purple? Must be her astrological Leo moon sparking. lol Please dear Lord, help me find this for Sarah. That's been my prayer for days. Oh! And a "Strawberry Shortcake" birthday cake. Now *that* Mommy can do! Piece of cake! :o)

This morning, Sarah tumbled out of bed and burst from her room exclaiming "My toof! My toof came out!" (it's been loose for weeks) "I gots a new toof for my burfday!!!" "Now I can get a nickel or maybe a dollar and a new toof from the Toof Faiwy!" (catch that sneak in? "maybe a dollar") lol

Oh Joy! Oh Rapture! Oh Bliss! It is remarkable what gifts we're given from God to help our children during bumpy times. She's busy working right this moment on drawing and coloring a picture for the Tooth Faiwy. To put under her pillow tonight. With her toof. For the Toof Faiway.

Love is all around. Joy is all around. Peace in mind, heart, soul is all around when we see it with Sarah's eyes. One of my three most important Teachers on this Earth. Amazing Grace, no doubt.

Happy Birthday, Sweetheart. I love you forever, too.

Mommy
