AMAZING photographs! Some of the prettiest I've ever, ever seen. I'll have to check back often...
Thanks for the heads-up on the NWS polygon/bull's eye revamp. Come to think of it, the polygon's not as bad as the "entire county" method. I mean, how does a tornado "know" where one county ends and another begins?
LOL
Just realized, I never did do my 8 random facts! They're still sittin' in a draft somewhere...
Oh, and did you happen to see Oprah today? About autism. I caught a glimpse... they talked about a gluten and dairy free diet.
I'll love reading your random 8s :o)
I didn't see Oprah. Usually don't watch her. I think she's a pompous woman who has grown too big for her britches. Of course, I could be wrong but she's pretty much a sell out in my book. I'm SO negative tonight. Sorry! lol
I'm real sorry to hear that the GFCF diet is still being pushed in such a big public way for otherwise healthy autistic kids. I think it's appropriate for some who show intolerance to wheat glutens and casein. I had Ben on that one for nearly a year, very early on, and it didn't make a difference. He's just one of the autistic kids who is born with different wiring. Genetics. Nothing's going to change it. So, we're focusing our energies in helping him with skill building in communication and self-help/daily living skills. I think he came this way for a very specific purpose. It's a spiritual/soul belief on my part, shared by many other parents. Who knows! One day, we'll all know, I guess. lol
All right Miss Lucy! Git crackin' on those eights Lady! ;o)

oh! p.s. glad you enjoyed the slide show. I thought it was beatiful too.
Oh yeah ... how does a tornado know where one county ends and another starts. Hm. I think this could be a Zen riddle.
lol
:::raises hand:::: ooh ooh. I know I know!
It watches the Weather Channel!
:::Ka-chunk::::
hi tink,
Guess what? I don't like Oprah either. ha ha
I just assume other people might. I do like Ellen though! Can you imagine how fun it would be to see Pete as a guest on Ellen's show?
I hear ya about the autism. I think my cousin's son (who passed away a couple of years ago) was of the profoundly differently genetically wired category. He was a severe case. But he wrote (through an augmentative communication device) the most equally profound poetry -- I remember reading something about the whales speaking to him. (It was in German and I can't remember it all). My cousin got a book deal in Germany and will be publishing her story soon, about her late autistic son who, as you say, also acted as a window to God for her...
Incredible. I'll keep you posted on that.
p.s. this is unconnected but I'm listening to a wonderful song by King Crimson on NPR right now. Epitaph...
Not sure if this is a legit link:

Anyway it's in the NPR archives. It's too much for words...
Wow Lucy!
I would LOVE to read about your cousin's son one day. So much we don't know about the brain, our own souls, how we view others. heh.
I used to like Oprah. But, she lost her way somewhere along the Journey. Maybe she'll get it back. Who knows.
I'm so hopelessly behind the times in many ways. I had never heard of King Crimson. Amazing music. Yes, the link worked fine. My autie son, who loves music and is nonverbal, 'borrowed' my Who CD. My ONLY Who CD - and it has gone missing. He does that sometimes. Hides things and after exhaustive search. Nada. Then, one day ... *poof* they just pop up in the middle of the floor. JUST like Pete Townshend's appearances on the Internet!
Since you brought up Ellen .. yep .. she cracks me up. I just watched a U-Tube clip called "Muskrat Love" ... I kid you not! lol It was a 10-minute highlight from her TV series. The one where a student she was counseling, named TUG, had a crush on her. She's so sharp and witty. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that one! Grubs, raccoons, and old boyfriends. :o)
Off to meetings!
ta!
