Sky Writer

Found my digital cable and software. Yay!

I love watching those jets make odd patterns in the sky. Why do they do that? Who are they? Do they mean anything? Who's paying for the jet fuel??? :o)

This was one I caught late this afternoon. The intial pattern looked like a double cross. It was kind of funky. Somewhat like a Knights Templar cross. By the time I had gotten the digital reloaded with batteries, the wind drift and the sky pilot had looped up and made the X shape. Okay, okay ... I know I said the next post would be Chinese animal signs, but ... couldn't resist sharing the sky experience.

In the military, chaplains are called Sky Pilot (so I'm told.) Everytime I see sky writers (riders) I think of Eric Burdon and The Animals. I don't want to glorify the tools of war, but this is a very nice tribute a Mom produced for her son, an AF pilot. Come see:

Geez...no comments on this and it's now the 14th? What gives? Maybe everyone is sick like me? Well, I feel well enough finally to read some blogs today so here I am.
Sky Writers...not sure why they are there or what their purpose is. Unless of course, they are writing a message or something like "will you marry me" etc. I haven't seen many lately...not like I used to. Maybe I'm just not looking up in the sky as often as when I was a kid? Could be.

hi Tink,

I admire you for going out on a shoot and capturing that image. Too often I see images throughout my day, and wish I had a camera with me. It's a full-time job, photojournalism. Good goin'!

Nice song and video tribute too -- very creatively done. So many creative people in this world! (and I hadn't thought about that song in a long time).

I hope things are OK for you and your family (all of them), this weekend, Tink.

- Lucy.

Hey Rob thanks. Hope you're feeling much better now. I haven't seen the actual type of sky writer that you mention since an air show in about 1993 in Florida! This was like jets making grids and X marks from the condensation trails from their exhaust. It was cool, but weird.

Thanks Grace ... I appreciate the good thoughts/prayers. He is disappointed - very - that the treatment cured his lung cancer, but didn't help the lesions in the brain. So, on one hand - we had a miracle and on the other ... a tragedy. He is prepared for the worst, but hoping for another "miracle." ;o)

Hi Lucy I've always enjoyed taking photos, and would like to do more. It's all time relative, tho, eh? Thanks for the good thoughts!

XO Tink

Dear Tink,
regarding your brother...
I hope that miracle comes for him. Help him to be strong and not give up. Also try and look into some alternative treatments too. You never know...somethig may work.

Best wishes, Love
Rob

Thanks Rob His attitude is that he'll continue trying everything and anything - but in the end, it's in God's hands. I hope we don't have to say a life goodbye to him this soon, but he's ready to accept what will be. Thank you, again, for the thoughts, prayers, love!
