*Parental warning* Fork In The Road - Neil Young!

He's done it again, good 'ole Neil. ** parental warning: Fcuk and siht* involved in this vid. I laughed my *ass off watching and listening. Then, I cried. (p.s. Pete has done work for Neil's Bridge School. Close to my heart.) I loved the raw footage and the "Joe" persona. Brilliant!

Neil Young - Fork In The Road

LYRICALS:

Got a pot belly. It's not too big. Gets in my way when I'm driving my rig. Driving this country in a big old rig, things I see mean a lot.

My friend has a pickup. Drives his kid to school. Then he takes his wifeto beauty school. Now she's doin' nails. Gonna get a job. Got a good teacher.

There's a fork in the road ahead. I don't know which way I'm gonna turn. There's a fork in the road ahead.

Forgot this year, to salute the troops. They're all still there in a fucking war. It's no good. Whose idea was that?

I've got hope, but you can't eat hope. I'm not done. Not giving up. Not cashing in. Too late.

There's a bailout coming but it's not for me. It's for all those creeps watching tickers on TV. There's a bailout coming but it's not for me.

I'm a big rock star. My sales have tanked, but I still got you. Thanks! Download this. Sounds like shit.

Keep on bloggin' 'til the power goes out, and your battery's dead.

Twist and Shout. On the radio. Those were the days. Bring 'em back.

There's a bailout coming but it's not for you. It's for all those creeps hiding what they do. There's a bailout coming but it's not for you. Bailout coming but it's not for you.

Got my new flat-screen. Got it repo'd now.
They picked it up. Left a hole in the wall. Last Saturday. Missed the Raiders game.

There's a bailout coming but it's not for you. There's a bailout coming but it's not for you. It's for all those creeps hiding what they do.

This song popped up at the end of a session in NYC last month. We recorded it that night before we went home. Hope you enjoy this little Shakey Pix video we did last week.

Ummmm...yeah. Hi Tink. The fact that he missed the Raiders game really hits home with me. Not to fret though...they probably lost anyhow. As for the song...VERY BORING. How about a bridge or something? I've never much liked Neil Young...but some of his stuff is really good. It turns out one of my friends knows him and says he is a very cool guy though. And seeing as he is a Raiders fan...I goota like him now. LOL!

Goota? Hehehe!

:o) Took me a long time to really appreciate Neil Young. "Old Man" has much more meaning now that I'm *old* lol He's really funny, but gets to the heart of a lot of issues. Thanks for stopping by Rob!

Hey Tink. LOVED it! Twist and Shout too! (on the radio) (yeah, miss them radio days, for sure)...

Great li'l vid. Less is more, it seems. Even when it comes to bailouts. :-)

Always like Neil OK. :-) Especially his distinctive voice.

oops, p.s. Tink...
meant to ask:

our Pete?

Tink said...

Yeah, Ray ... I hear it, man. Spare change would be a distinct blessing these days. I hear a little birdie calling: When in danger, when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout: Ottie, Ottie, All In!!!! :o)

Yes, Lucy ... "our" Pete (lol)

Yep, I remember summer days just walking around with the radio "glued" to me ear. Small transistor --- it was baby blue if I'm remembering correctly. 5 Stairsteps .. oooh oooh Child. Beatles, CSNY, Motown, so many exceptional artist and tunes. Glory days. My appreciation for Neil Young really has grown in a bigger way over the last few years. CSNY wasn't the same without him.

Hi tink,

I have been lucky to have been at the Bridge school benefit with The Who.
Happy friday the 13th, I have a scary vehicle story, but will save that for over the weekend. I am beat with dealing the vehicle issues! ugh.

I remember now that you mentioned that Grace ... having been at the Bridge School benefit. SO COOL!

I'll check you blog later for the scary story! Hope it doesn't involve fingernails dragging on the roof ....

p.s. I LOVE in this video how his "iPod" ear buds are hooked into the apple. Talk about yer Garden of Edens! ::::download this - sounds like shit:::: LOL

No, no nails on the roof.... but I would have liked that though instead!

LOL, yeah, Tink. Love that line too (the "sounds like shit").

This song/vid has really grown on me! Just watched it again.

(and hey -- I remember little transistor radios too! When I was a very young grade-schooler or so...)(I'd hear things like: "Knock three times on the ceilin' if you want me...")

I trust ya Grace!

I know, Lucy ... I keep watching it. It's one of those that gets "under yer skin."

I remember Tony Orlando and Dawn. It wasn't "cool" to like Tony Orlando, but I did and listened and didn't care. :o)
