We're SO excited. Sorry for the blurry photo. Was getting my little girl's scooter down from the porch, causing the Mama to fly away. Last night, I was sure I heard commotion around the nest. As I looked over to the nest, there was one little scrawny, pink baby inside with its little, tiny beak gaping wide! As soon as I put the camera up, the little guy plunked back down. Of course. lol
The mama was getting very upset that I was so close, hence the photo is a little blurry from my shaking, excited hands! She was on the roof next door hollering at me, so I snapped a quick one and beat it. I really need my eyes to work. lol
NEW PICTURE, NEW PICTURE, NEW PICTURE ALERT!!!!!
CAUGHT THIS ONE AS MAMA WENT WORM FINDING (1:50 PM):We're calling this one "Einstein" ! (When Orion saw him, he said "He looks like Einstein with that hair!) lol (Here, Einstein is holding a brother or sister egg for support as he pushes up for a meal. His little beak was WIDE open and just as I pushed the shutter, he closed his beak, so as not to look like a little pig.) :o)
[the other eggs are beginning to crack, little tiny beak prints are pushing out from the inside. Soon!]

Oh My tink...that picture is absolutely precious. what a great capture. How fun to watch him/her grow, hope you get the stages of its development. I bet the mama was chirping away at you so close to the nest. !
xoxo
Awww... thanks ray and Grace !!! Babies #2 and #3 have arrived!!
See new post!
It's a GRAND day for the children!
p.s. The mom and pop (who came back today!) seem to be getting used to us. They fly away if when we come onto the porch, but don't scold or try to dive at us. That's a happy thing! I was able to get fairly close today for photos, and neither Mom and Pop shooed us away. Sarah was dancing on the porch with excitement!
That is the most amazing, ADORABLE picture, Tink. Bravo for catching it!!
I love it.
