Sarah finished 4th grade in the top 10 of her class. Gold honor roll. Straight A's for the entire year in Art, Music, Language Arts, Social Studies. Not bad for a girl who was homeschooled until 3rd grade! Orion made 3rd level honor roll, straight A's in Math the whole year! Ditto on homeschooling until 5th grade. He's a little techno-wizard. His good-bye for summer gift to his teachers was a home-made video production on the beauty of summer vacation and a world with no schools. :o) Ben is being promoted to an advanced autism group, focusing more on traditional academics and communication; less on daily living skills. It's a great move for him! He achieved all goals set at the beginning of the year, and surpassed many! All in all, a fantastic school year for all three. Here is a sample of Sarah's artwork from March . She painted this all in "dots." Her model was an 8x11 paper print-out from the Internet.
VanGogh's
Starry Night, according to then 9-year-old Sarah's interpretation:

[VanGogh's original]

And just when you thought it might be safe to venture back onto the blog without Robin-Mania, here's a new one of the cuties from this afternoon! They're SO sweet. Eyes are regular-looking and open now. They're getting HUGE! :o)

Hi Tink
You should be very proud of your kids. They are doing terrific. Congratulations to all of them!
oh, I was hoping for Robin-mania pictures! Adorable, got their feathers happening.
xo
P.s. the van gogh interpretation is fantastic. wow
:) I have been thinking about you in the mornings, there is this bird just about the break of daylight, it makes this one pitch noise like a broken record over and over and over and over.....for about 1 1/2 hrs, and then goes on about it's business.
Thanks Grace!Sarah is so pleased with the compliment on her SarahGogh! :o)
The robins are definitely getting very big ... they take up the whole nest now. All eyes are open and their feathers are coming in nicely. This weekend, they'll be 2weeks old and almost close to getting "pushed out" of the nest for some hunting lessons. :o) I'll get some more pictures up tomorrow.
I know what you mean about that broken record .. we have one, too, that goes on and on just before daybreak. Chirp-chirp-chirp..chirp-chirp-chirp. etc. lol It started about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday was the first morning it didn't wake me up.
Sarah is an artist waiting to be discovered!
that didn't take long for them to be grown. 2 weeks already? wow does time fly(hehe, no pun intended!)
I always am nervous for them when they get pushed out, it is like, ok there you go figure it out. kind of harsh. Guess you oughta get some pictures before they are brave and are gone. Wonder? will they 'hang' around the area?
Lucky you not waking up with the record with the skip! or chirp!
I don't know if they'll hang out or not. From what I've been reading, they'll get the push out and then have to learn survival techniques with mom and dad watching over them. They'll have to hunt worms and bugs, and learn to hide. The ground near the porch has some nooks and crannies for them to hide. I'll get my cat broom ready for scatting naughty cats who might get too close. lol
Only had time to get 2 quick shots today ... they were sleeping.
Ah, and there they is again, the robins. Awwww... The wobbins.
:-)
Sarah's Starry Night is amazingly good for being dots! How tedious that must have been. How long did it take her? You have every right to be proud of your young'uns. You done a good job with them. :-)
KUDOS to Tink and her kids! Well done. (will they have a summer reward or trip of some kind? Will YOU have a summer reward or trip of some kind?)
P.S. "Hunting lessons."
Just sounds funny to me, when speaking of baby robins.
LOL
P.P.S. Grace -- (and Tink) -- have you checked online for bird calls?
I just LOVED hearing the blackbirds in England. Coz it was so different. Something we don't have here.
Congrats to you and your kids Tink! And just for the record...I like her panting better than this Van Gogh character (whoever he is). Ain't he the guy who sliced off his ear...shaving or something? Unheard of!
