"You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today. You may deceive all the people part of the time, and part of the people all the time, but not all the people all the time."
---Abraham Lincoln
“Those are the same stars, and that is the same moon, that look down upon your brothers and sisters, and which they see as they look up to them, though they are ever so far away from us, and each other."
---Sojourner Truth [Isabella Baumfree]
This was an interesting old photo of Lincoln and Truth. What further caught my eye was the little tin soldier on the fireplace mantel. Just beyond Lincoln's left arm. It's a tad difficult to see, but there nonetheless. It reminded me of the story of The Steadfast Tin Soldier.
A remembrance today:
To the dreamers and doers ... to those who continue to struggle under the blankets of oppression... to those who stand and speak their truth regardless of backlashes ... and to those who help others in so doing.
May the corruptions and sicknesses of our current "leaders" or "heads of state" continue to be exposed, and may we have the continued courage to confront our own poor choices that lead to our personal slaveries. And may we then have continued patience, stamina, and strength to free ourselves! Just as the Steadfast Tin Soldier found his freedom and his heart's desire.
Annie's back and fit as a fiddle. Thank you for the kind notes and blessings.
