Housecalls Would Be Nice

Well, we were going to make a blog entry on "President's Day." We made note of Lincoln on his actual birthday. Things happen and we're all ill this morning. Quick version: Always tell the truth, don't chop down any trees, make peace not war, eat more cherry pie, take good care of the teeth you have, and impeach Bush. lol

Sigh ... all three children are sick with the flu. I heard it's going around the Northeast. This morning, Mama awoke with it after a mostly sleepless night with youngest. Parents know how *that* one goes. BLECH. We'll be back another day. Oh for the days of the physician housecall and loyalty to the Hippocratic Oath. Now they're busy suing Wal-Mart for not carrying abortion pills. Oh have we ever gone backward in this culture. Jaysus. We out-technologized, oursourced, and managed cared ourselves right outta that era. Now, if it doesn't bleep, blip, monitor, or probe you --- it couldn't *possibly* be good medicine. It's not, at this point, with a seemingly routine virus, that a housecall physician could really do anything that I'm not doing for them. But, back in the housecall days --- what the good doctors would do is bring along the kind of medicine to help the children sleep. Not only to help their bodies rest and heal ... but so mom or dad could do so as well. Especially when mom or dad were down with the virus too ::::achoo:::: Back to chamomile tea, lemon, honey, and OTC antihistamine. It works fairly well to induce restful sleeping. See you all soon ~*~
