The missing link between fish and land animals? A newfound 380-million-year-old fossil, the Tiktaalik roseae, suggests that the animal had limblike fins.
The scientists named the new species Tiktaalik (tick-TAH-lick), a native Inuit word for "large freshwater fish." They think it could survive on land for short periods but had to return to the water to stay alive.
Tiktaalik used its snout to breathe air and its gills to get oxygen in the water, like modern lungfish, Ahlberg said in an e-mail message.
He said the animal's powerful pectoral fins, the equivalent of a forelimb, could raise its head and forequarters slightly off the ground.
Although the site lies in the Arctic zone today, it had a subtropical climate at the time Tiktaalik was alive, rather like the Mississippi Delta.

Well, all of this got Annie thinking about the Bible, eschatology, and genetics. Yep. All of that. On the heels of the above discovery, we found an article highlighting the recent genetic discovery that may have an implication in autism. Remember our post called "Cosmic DNA - Out MEO!" We said to watch for a genetic/DNA discovery, soon, possibly in relation to autism. We wrote that because of the unusual DNA helix that was photographed twisting about in space. [As above, so below .. remember?] Okay. I know you're saying right about now: Annie, here you go again! All these absolutely WEIRD connections you seem to "see" in nothing. Well, hold on. Chromosome 7 has long been implicated in many genetic-based illnesses [more specifically, deletions on the chromosome sequences.] The latest discovery involves a mutation on this chromosome that involves a protein known as CASPR [the friendly ghost?] Specifically this:
The finding points to a genetic variation in the gene encoding for contactin - associated protein-like 2 (CASPR2) as a possible cause of both epilepsy and autism in the affected children, the investigators wrote in the March 30 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
"We were able to unequivocally map the disease gene to chromosome 7 and identify a pathogenic sequence variant in the gene CNTNAP2, which codes for the CASPR2 protein," said co-author Erik G. Puffenberger, Ph.D., laboratory director at the Center for Special Children.

THEN, while thinking about the "ghost-like" or ethereal or much more appropriately, the "elusive" quality of autism genetics - we stumbled on the news article about "The Gospel of Judas." Okay .. our weird-o connections are a bit stretched as you may figure. But, as you think about these three news items over the next couple days or so - things will click in. Here are some clips from the story of the "found text," now called the Gospel of Judas.
An early Christian manuscript, including the only known text of the Gospel of Judas, has surfaced after 1,700 years, and it portrays Judas Iscariot not as a betrayer of Jesus but as his favored disciple and willing collaborator.
The 26-page Judas text is believed to be a copy in the Coptic language, made around A.D. 300, of the original Gospel of Judas, written in Greek the century before.
He noted that the Gospels of John and Mark both contain passages that suggest that Jesus not only picked Judas to betray him but actually encouraged Judas to hand him over to those he knew would crucify him.
In a key passage in the newfound Gospel, Jesus had talks with Judas "three days before he celebrated Passover." That is when Jesus is supposed to have referred to the other disciples and said to Judas: "But you will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me."
Rudolphe Kasser, a Swiss scholar of Coptic studies, directed the team that reconstructed and translated the script, which was written on 13 sheets of papyrus, both front and back. The manuscript was a mess of more than 1,000 brittle fragments.

HA HA. It's not really called the Truman Show. But, if this document is ever verified, then it could be called that. Got us thinking about "all the world's a stage" and if this text would be true, then we've got some thinking to do about destiny, fate, karma kalls, and purpose. The thing that really made Annie's eggs scramble was viewing a photo of one of the pages of this papyrus text and then having seen the electron print out of the 7th Chromosome scale. Here:
You may have to download and view these images blown up and side by side. Annie's skill with graphics is extremely limited. However, plugging these images into a document next to each other was freaky. The chromosome scale tinted in browns would be much better as comparison, but we don't know how to do that. lol The pattern and texture were so similar that Annie felt it was one of those little "synchro prods and nods" to think about and put out here in cyberland.
If we are in a cycle wherein history is repeating or remaking a loop in the time/space warp, then we're about due for some kind of messianic trump. What will have to be done different this time so that we all don't get stuck in the old loop?
