Earth Day ~ From Our Yard To Yours ...

... today, remembering the physical place, in a very outward way, that sustains our physical lives and frequently nourishes our souls. Our Earth. Orb of darkness. Orb of light. Orb of Joy. Orb of Sorrow. Sphere of Life. Sphere of Death. All these things, she is. Everything we do, touch, think, believe, and feel affects her. Everything does matter and everything is matter. That includes the soul of the Earth. Whether we like it or not ... each act in our lives affects this Earth and, thereby, our very selves. What we give our energy to, we will reap in kind. And that's not surmising. It's a fact, Jack! Action/Reaction. Ask a physicist or chemist or a 5-year-old child if you don't believe 'old Annie!

Maybe today, a small act will help retain balance for the wobbly orb we humans call home. Maybe today, turn off a light not used. Maybe today, pick up one swirly crinkled piece of paper from a curb. Maybe today, give an extra hug to someone you love - she feels it you know. Maybe today, walk the mile to that convenience store and wonder at what you see all around you on the way. Maybe today, touch the rough bark of a tree and just say "thank you" for renewing the air we breathe. Maybe today, a thought about responsible stewardship.

Here's a photo of the first bulbs that appeared in the yard of our new place:
